It has been three short days of a month since my accident and I am almost back to my old self! Over the past few weeks I've struggled with oxygen levels, pain and sleeping well at night.
That has changed as today my lungs are still improving as I write. I have a spirometer that I suck into every hour 12 different times to get my deep breathes up. The highest it goes is 5,000 ML and I am now hitting 4,000 ML and a bit higher on occasion. At the hospital I was barely going above 1,000! Wahoo!!
We got the results from my blood work we had done on the 6th and my blood count was 30. It was 21 when I left the hospital on Nov. 24th and it needs to be between at least 37 and 42. It is getting there! We get the blood tested again this week as well as go to the nephrologist to get my kidneys observed.
I have been going on walks to get strength, heart rate and oxygen going so I can be ready to go back to work. That still may not happen for a couple more weeks however but I am so blessed at the rate I am going in my healing. I can make it through all of church and as I mentioned I was struggling to sleep through the night before, last night I slept the best I had in a long time. My oxygen is getting better at night as well as the pain is deteriorating as I have been healing!
My relationship with my Savior and Heavenly Father is getting stronger as I go through this process. I know if it weren't for them I wouldn't be doing so well. I am so grateful! I am also grateful to my family and friends and their prayers. That means all of you! Thank you so much!
I am excited for this Christmas and I am excited to get my new car back. I bought the car Oct. 28th and it has been sitting at Kade's house since my accident. I am excited I am well enough to drive again!
Love you all! The road to recovery is a wonderful one!
