As for my progress in the past week, it continues to improve. We had blood work done last Thursday and my blood count rose from 30 to 35!!! So those blood cells are coming along to heal up my body. My oxygen contiues to improve as a result.
However, we did have a little disappointment. I previously mentioned how I have a condition that has caused my kidneys to be abnormally large as compared to the normal kidney. Well... We had an appointment with the nephrologist in St. George on Thursday and was informed that my kidneys are only functioning at half of the function as they should be.. Dr. Murcado said he wants to look at the last time I had my kidneys checked and make sure that this issue was not something I had before the accident. I personally believe that this issue is only as a result of the trauma but it is good to take precautions. I will be getting an ultrasound on Friday to check what is going on now as compared to previously. Everyone please PRAY that its only the result of the trauma and that the kidney will heal up and function fully as quick as possible!!!
As a result of the kidney still healing I have some little pains on ocassion, but everything else is following along.
I was excited to get my car back and drive it home. I spent time with Kade and Amber. Its so nice to get around and do things now. I got a little pampered with a new haircut as well as also helping make holiday pies with my Aunt Elaine and cousin Brenda.
Today is the month mark of my discharge from the hospital. In celebration I decided to drive to the top of the mountain to see how I would handle it. The summit of Boulder Mountain is the same as the base of Brian Head Ski Resort. I was so pleased as my car climbed the mountain and my oxygen levels were 98 and as I hit the summit and walked around I was still at a good 94 to 95! After I retrieved some fresh spring water from Spruce Spring my level showed 93.. Even doing activity at that level show good oxygen levels.. So with that I know I can now call and let my boss know I will be returning to work! I am so excited and am sooo blessed I get to return there. I'm blessed to be alive, blessed to have great family and friends and especially my Savior.
We wish Christ a very happy birthday as we remember his birth. He has done so much for all of us we cannot deny it. I hope you all have a happy "Holly"day ;) Spending this day with family is going to be such a wonderful time. I hope you all enjoy the day..
Love Always,
Holly~
